Brand Africa in association with the JSE, on Friday announced the Top 100 best brands in Africa on their 6th annual Brand Africa 100: Africa's Best Brands at the JSE in Johannesburg.

South African tele-communications brand MTN is the #1 African brand spontaneously recalled irrespective of continent of origin, while Nigerian industrial brand Dangote is the #1 African recalled when consumers are prompted about the continent (Africa) of origin.

New investors, Alitheia Capital (via the Umunthu Fund), Bamboo Capital Partners, and Tekton Ventures, also joined the round, which included existing investors Accion Venture Lab and Newid Capital.
