Lafarge Africa Plc has announced plans to expand production capacity at its Ashaka cement plant in Gombe State and its Sagamu plant in Ogun State, the company informed the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public.
Once the expansion projects are completed, the Ashaka plant’s annual output is expected to reach 2 million metric tonnes, while Sagamu’s production capacity will increase to 3.5 million metric tonnes per year.
The company said the investments underline Lafarge Africa’s strategic commitment to supporting Nigeria’s infrastructure development, improving product availability across key markets, and delivering sustainable long-term value to shareholders.
In its statement, Lafarge Africa Plc said:
"The Company hereby notifies the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public of its plan to expand its Ashakacem Plant in Gombe State and Sagamu Plant in Ogun State. Upon completion, Ashakacem and Sagamu Plants’ total capacity will be 2MT and 3.5MT per annum, respectively. These investments reflect the Company’s strategic focus on supporting Nigeria’s infrastructural growth, improving product availability and delivering long-term value to shareholders."
