Emirates has announced it will expand its operations to Tokyo Narita with the launch of a second daily service from 1 May, operated by a retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The additional flight, EK320, will depart Dubai at 22:30 and arrive in Tokyo Narita at 13:30 the following day. The return service, EK321, will leave Tokyo Narita at 21:30 and arrive in Dubai at 03:50 the next day. All times are local.
The new frequency is designed to offer customers greater choice and improved flexibility, including enhanced opportunities for multi-destination travel and the option of a stopover in Dubai.
Eastbound passengers on the added Narita service will benefit from afternoon arrivals, supporting stronger domestic connectivity within Japan and shorter connection times from key European and Middle Eastern markets. Westbound travellers departing Tokyo Narita will arrive early morning into Dubai, allowing for smooth onward connections to destinations across Africa, Europe and South America, including South Africa, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Brazil.
By deploying a refurbished Boeing 777-300ER on flights EK320 and EK321, Emirates reinforces its commitment to delivering a consistent and premium travel experience for customers flying to and from Japan. The four-class aircraft features refreshed interiors with modern colour schemes, Ghaf Tree-inspired design elements and wood finishes throughout the cabins. On board are 260 Economy Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, 40 Business Class seats arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, and eight First Class Suites.
The onboard offering includes regionally inspired dining, with Japanese specialities such as a Kaiseki meal tray. Passengers across all cabins will also have access to more than 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment on Emirates’ ice system, including movies, television series, podcasts, music and documentaries, with a selection of Japanese content.
Emirates has served Japan since 2002 and currently operates daily flights to Tokyo Narita, Tokyo Haneda and Osaka, with services offered on a mix of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft, all featuring the airline’s Premium Economy product.
From 1 May, the airline will provide more than 22,500 weekly seats to and from Japan across 28 flights serving three gateways. Emirates will also be able to transport up to 1,240 tonnes of cargo each week, supporting Japanese exporters and importers with access to key markets in the Gulf Cooperation Council, Europe and Africa.
The airline recently introduced its Chauffeur-drive service for premium customers travelling to and from Narita, with the service set to extend to Osaka from 1 March. Emirates also offers expanded domestic connectivity in Japan through partnerships with Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, providing access to 36 destinations, including 26 domestic and 10 regional points.
The additional Narita frequency further enhances connectivity for travellers from South Africa and other African markets, offering greater flexibility and more convenient onward connections within Japan and beyond.
