Like bee to the nectar, hundreds of contestants thronged the Genesis Hotel in Ibadan, Oyo State capital to battle for the selection tickets of Nigeria’ number one Fuji talent hunt, Goldberg Fuji t’o Bam.

At the end of the keenly contested audition, 32 outstanding potential Fuji talents grabbed the selection ticket. The presence of popular Fuji artiste, Alhaji Taye Currency and the season two winners of Fuji t’o Bam, Twinzobia Twins was a major boost for the Ibadan crowd. Taye Currency encouraged the contestants to put in their best beyond the audition and cash in on this once in a lifetime opportunity to stardom which only a brand that understands the peoples’ culture can provide.

As a result of the energy and tone of the audition, many predicted that Oyo state is poised to retaining the Goldberg Fuji t’o Bam crown following the show of firm understanding of Fuji lyrics and dynamics by the contestants.

Okere Azeez, a fan who has been following the competition is sure that an Ibadan indigene would wear the crown again this season. “Looking back from season one,” he said“Oyo state contestant came second and grabbed the crown in season two, the contestants that have showed up for the audition in this season have also displayed the readiness to thrill judges and fans at other stages of the contest. I am confident we will wear the crown again this year.”

He added that Fuji music is synonymous with the culture and tradition of the Yoruba people in Nigeria and Oyo state, being a state that value and respect culture and music, will always come out as best in the Fuji music circle.

One of the contestants, Opeyemi Akanbi, (Arole Currency) commended Goldberg for remaining true to its brand essence and for celebrating the people and their rich culture which is why Oyo State Fuji stars are ready to go all the way to associate with the brand. “The Goldberg Fuji t’o Bam is not just a competition, it is seen as a platform that is positively contributing to the development of Fuji music and empowering the industry players. This is the sole reason we see the brand as ours.”

The audition train will make the final stop in Akure, Ondo State. Identified talents from the auditions will later converge in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital for the final selection of 30 contestants that will proceed to the quarter final at Ota, Ogun State.
