Online Marketplace Wins Top Africa Award

Online marketplace KAYMU has been nominated as one of eight Africa Internet Group (AIG) companies at the Africa CEO Forum Awards, in recognition of firms that have ambitious objectives and contribute to growth in Africa.

According to a statement, Kaymu has been recognised for getting the organisation its first nomination for International Corporation of the year at The Africa CEO Forum Awards, organised under the African Development Bank (AfDB) and GroupeJeuneAfrique.

The nominees are chosen for their commitment and achievements in promoting the African private sector and developing intra-African trade.

Mr Erfaan Mojgani, Kaymu Tanzania's Country Manager commented, "Kaymu Tanzania is very proud to be part of AIG, a company that has gained such recognition for its successes within such a short time," he said.

Mr Mojgani said that the nomination for this prestigious award is a clear indication that e-commerce is a strong trend across Tanzania and the whole continent and that Kaymu Tanzania was proud to contribute to this great adventure through our rapid growth.

The Co-CEO Africa Internet Group, Sacha Poignonne said that they are honoured to be nominated only two years after the launch of AIG.

"We are glad that our efforts towards propelling the evolution of African online culture and our contribution to the stunning rise of the e-commerce market in Africa are recognised among all these market leaders.

"As Africa's leading internet company, AIG is constantly looking for new ideas to make online business easier in Africa and building Africa's leading internet platform," he said.
