Earlier this year, Twitter rolled out three new features globally, which brought new and exciting ways to connect and interact.  Here is a how to guide to help you use these great new features.

Group Messaging
Ever wanted to speak privately with a group of people of up to 20 people on Twitter?  Well now you can! Send a private message to up to 20 people and share tweets, pictures, links and emoji.  The Direct Messages feature has now been updated so you can start a private conversation with more than one person, who do not all need to follow each other.
How to start a group message:
  • To share a tweet –go to the tweet and click “Share via Direct Message”; multiple names can be entered into the recipient box
  • To start a group direct message –click on the Messages tab and enter multiple names into the recipients box

Video
Share videos up to 30 seconds in an instant. Twitter for iPhone users will be able to upload videos from the camera roll as well (this feature will be available on the Android app soon).
How to upload videos from your Twitter for iOS app:
  1.  Click on the compose icon
  2. Click on the camera icon
  3.  Hold down the record button to capture the footage you would like to upload (you can shoot more than one clip)
  4. Edit your video by dragging and dropping; delete the bad clips and rearrange the good ones.
  5.  Share your tweet!

While you were away…
The while you were away feature is a recap of some of the top tweets you might have missed from accounts you follow while you were offline. The tweets that are shown are determined by engagement and other factors.

How to see tweets under While you were away:
  • Simply open your Twitter for iOS or Twitter for Andrioid app and the While you were away tweets will be displayed at the top
(The more you use Twitter, the less you will see the While you were away feature)

The While you were away feature will be available on Twitter.com soon.
