GE announces Expansion with New Office Space to Support Growth

General Electric (GE), a global leader in infrastructure technology, services and solutions, recently announced its relocation to a new office space to accommodate the rapid growth of its operations in Nigeria. The new office space located in Victoria Island, Lagos, will provide capacity for the expansion of the company’s capabilities.

Speaking during the commissioning of the new office space, President and CEO, GE Nigeria, Dr. Lazarus Angbazo, said that the company’s aggressive growth plans for Nigeria, has necessitated moving its operations to a larger facility. He added that the move to such a world-class office facility was in line with GE’s efforts to invest in their local presence.

Angbazo further said, “In growing our operations in Nigeria we started making decisions locally that reflect our commitment to the development of key infrastructure that will boost the economy, as well as add several thousand more jobs to the country.’’

GE has been operating in Nigeria for over 40 years with businesses spanning across a number of key sectors including aviation, energy, healthcare, power & water and rail transportation. However in the past 2 years the company has renewed its focus, built new service facilities, and employed more people. Its footprint consists of over 350 employees, offices in Lagos and Abuja as well as service facilities in Port Harcourt and Onne.

GE’s expansion to the new office space in Lagos mirrors their continued growth and focus in Nigeria. The company recently marked a major milestone in its $1bn investment commitment by holding an official groundbreaking ceremony of its proposed manufacturing plant in Calabar. The event was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan who was represented by Vice President Namadi Sambo.
