Heirs Holdings-backed Redtech Named Among CNBC’s World’s Top 500 Fintech Companies for 2026

Heirs Holdings-backed technology company, Redtech, has been recognised in the Payments category of CNBC and Statista’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2026 ranking, reinforcing its growing influence in Africa’s financial technology landscape.

Redtech is one of only 11 African companies to make this year’s prestigious global list.

Compiled annually by CNBC in partnership with Statista, the ranking identifies 500 leading fintech companies from a pool of more than 3,500 firms worldwide. It serves as a global benchmark for businesses driving innovation, digital transformation and scalable financial services through technology.

The recognition reflects Redtech’s transformation from a payment processing company into a financial infrastructure provider, offering technology that enables businesses across Africa to collect, process, reconcile, disburse and manage payments at scale.

Through its flagship platform, RedPay, the company delivers payment acceptance, digital banking and merchant infrastructure solutions, including smart POS terminals, payment gateway services, virtual account fund transfers, payment cards and NRS-compliant e-invoicing solutions.

Since its inception, Redtech has processed approximately ₦45.84 trillion (US$33.21 billion) in transaction value through the RedPay platform. The company has also deployed more than 55,000 RedPay POS terminals, supporting merchants across sectors including hospitality, energy, banking, fintech, retail, utilities and enterprise services.

Commenting on the achievement, Emmanuel Ojo, Chief Executive Officer of Redtech, said “Recognition from CNBC and Statista reflects the growing relevance of African Fintech companies on the global stage and validates our ambition to build Redtech into Africa’s payment infrastructure company.

We are building the technology that enables businesses of every size to collect, pay and manage money seamlessly across channels and markets. As African commerce becomes increasingly digitally connected across multiple market borders, businesses need payment infrastructure that is reliable, secure, interoperable and designed for the realities of operating across the continent.

Our goal is to help power that growth by making payments simpler and more connected for African businesses, while building solutions that reflect global standards.”

As part of its regional expansion strategy, Redtech is extending its footprint beyond Nigeria into Francophone West Africa. The UBA RedPay mobile application is now available in Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali and Senegal, marking the company’s first major digital banking expansion outside Nigeria.

The company has also introduced virtual account services in Ghana through a partnership with UBA, further strengthening its collections infrastructure in West Africa.

The latest recognition follows Redtech’s recent inclusion in the Financial Times’ Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies 2026 ranking, where it was also listed among the continent’s top 15 fastest-growing fintech companies.

Looking ahead, Redtech plans to expand its collections and financial infrastructure services across all 54 African countries, enabling businesses and financial institutions to manage cross-border transactions through a single integrated technology platform.
