The Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, has been named Industrialist of the Year by Vanguard Media Limited in recognition of his leadership, entrepreneurial vision and the company’s transformative impact on Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods sector.
The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites on Friday, 24 April 2026, attended by business leaders, policymakers and key industry stakeholders.
Under Adegunwa’s leadership, Rite Foods has emerged as a major force in Nigeria’s FMCG market, challenging established players and reshaping consumer expectations through innovation, quality and accessibility. The company has introduced pioneering product formats and built brands that resonate strongly with local consumers, setting new standards in the food and beverage industry.
The recognition coincides with the spirit of World Creativity and Innovation Day, themed “Recreating Tomorrow Today”, a principle reflected in Rite Foods’ business model. Through advanced manufacturing and consumer-focused marketing strategies, the company has accelerated growth while influencing broader trends within the industry.
Commending Adegunwa’s achievements, Vanguard Editor Eze Anaba highlighted his role in driving strategic expansion, strengthening nationwide distribution and fostering a culture of continuous innovation. He also noted that Rite Foods’ expansion has generated employment opportunities across its production, logistics, retail and supplier networks.
Receiving the award on his behalf, the company’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, described the honour as recognition of Rite Foods’ commitment to reshaping the industry through indigenous excellence.
“This honor reflects the work we have done in challenging conventions and delivering products that resonate with consumers. It reinforces our belief that Nigerian companies can compete at the highest level on quality, innovation, and leadership,” he said.
Rite Foods’ growth has been fuelled by a portfolio of brands that have disrupted traditional market categories. Its Bigi carbonated soft drink range has established a strong foothold through bold flavours and value-focused offerings, while Fearless Energy Drink reshaped the market with the introduction of a PET bottle format before expanding into cans. Its Sosa Fruit Drink and sausage products have also strengthened the company’s position by meeting changing consumer demands for convenience, taste and variety.
Beyond product innovation, Rite Foods has also distinguished itself through strategic consumer engagement, particularly in entertainment. Its sponsorship of Nigerian Idol from Seasons 6 through 10 underscores its commitment to talent development and national growth.
With world-class manufacturing operations at its Ososa facility in Ogun State, Rite Foods has continued to position itself as a leading example of Nigerian enterprise, combining innovation, scale and strategic vision to shape the future of the FMCG industry.
