As Clean Energy Day is marked on January 26, JMG Limited is underscoring its role in Nigeria’s clean energy transition with a major operational milestone: a sharp reduction in diesel consumption at its Lagos head office, translating into annual savings of up to ₦40 million.

At the centre of the company’s Clean Energy Day message is the deployment of a 129-kilowatt hybrid solar power system at its headquarters. The installation now supplies as much as 90 per cent of the building’s energy needs, generating an average of 15.48 MWh of clean electricity each month. As a result, JMG has cut diesel consumption by more than 34,800 litres annually, while eliminating over 71 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
The project, designed and executed by JMG Solar, integrates LONGi 575W solar panels, high-efficiency Deye hybrid inverters and 122.9 kWh of lithium-ion battery storage. The system has been configured to be scalable and future-ready, ensuring reliable power while significantly reducing operating costs and environmental impact.

In recent weeks, key stakeholders and business partners visited the solar installation at JMG’s headquarters to see the system in operation. The visit highlighted how renewable energy adoption can deliver tangible cost savings, improve operational efficiency and reduce dependence on fossil fuels for Nigerian businesses.
