Eko Disco Appoints Wola Joseph-Condotti as Chief Executive Officer

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as its new Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of Rekhia Momoh, who led the company for nearly two years.

Joseph-Condotti brings extensive leadership and sector experience to the role. Until her appointment, she served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of West Power & Gas Limited, the former parent company of Eko Disco, where she was responsible for providing strategic and operational direction across the group’s businesses.

She played a pivotal strategic role in the ₦360 billion (approximately $250 million) acquisition of a 60 per cent controlling stake in Eko Disco by Transgrid Enerco Limited, a consortium of energy and infrastructure investors that includes North-South Power Company Limited and Axxela Limited. Finalised in late December 2025, the transaction ranks among the largest privately negotiated deals in Nigeria’s power sector since the 2013 privatisation of electricity distribution companies.

Widely regarded as a thought leader in the power and energy industry, Joseph-Condotti has strong professional interests in renewable energy, sustainability, carbon markets and carbon credits. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where she obtained a Master of Laws (LLM), and also holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School, reflecting a strong blend of legal, financial and strategic expertise.

Her career spans several senior leadership roles within Eko Disco and its predecessor entities. She served as the pioneer Chief Legal & Company Secretariat at EKEDP and later held positions including Head of Regulatory Compliance, Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer, Supervising Chief of Customer Service, and Data Protection Officer. These roles have given her broad operational insight and deep governance experience within Nigeria’s electricity distribution sector.

Beyond executive management, Joseph-Condotti has remained actively engaged in national energy policy discussions. She regularly participates in energy forums, where she advocates for robust regulatory frameworks and increased private-sector participation to support Nigeria’s energy transition, including the adoption of smart grids, renewable energy integration and cost-reflective tariffs.

Her contributions to the industry have earned her several recognitions, including listings on the Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Nigeria and among the Top 100 Most Inspiring Women in Africa, underscoring her influence across the energy and legal sectors.

Joseph-Condotti also sits on multiple boards and advisory platforms, including the Women in Energy Network (WIEN), where she is a founding member, as well as advisory roles for industry publications and professional bodies, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership development and corporate governance.

Her appointment comes at a critical time for Eko Disco and Nigeria’s electricity distribution industry, amid growing calls for improved service delivery, stronger regulatory compliance and enhanced capacity to support national energy objectives. Eko Disco supplies electricity to parts of Lagos and Ogun States, two of Nigeria’s most economically active and commercially significant regions.
