The Director-General of the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), Mr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to Christians in both Nigeria and China, marking the festive season with a message of unity and goodwill.
In his message, Tegbe described Christmas as a period that reflects enduring values such as love, peace, sacrifice, and unity, noting that these principles remain essential for social harmony and the strengthening of international partnerships.
He encouraged Christians of Nigerian and Chinese heritage to draw inspiration from the birth and life of Jesus Christ, as recorded in the Holy Scriptures, and to continue to uphold these values in fostering peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and shared development.
Looking ahead to 2026, Tegbe expressed optimism that the year would present significant opportunities to deepen cooperation and advance the broader objectives of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Nigeria and China, particularly as both nations continue to strengthen their economic relations.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the NCSP to translating Nigeria–China cooperation into tangible economic benefits through strategic investments in key sectors such as agriculture, automotive manufacturing, mining, steel, and energy, in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
