Sony Revives Classic Themes, Unveils New Audio Features in PS5 Update

Beginning April 24, PS5 users worldwide will start receiving the update, which also includes a new audio enhancement tool called “Audio Focus.”

Each theme package features distinct background art, sound effects, and startup audio cues designed to evoke memories for veteran gamers. Users will find these options under the new “Appearance” menu in system settings, making it simple to switch themes and celebrate their PlayStation history.

Players can select from four audio enhancement presets:

• Boost Low Pitch

• Boost Voices

• Boost High Pitch

• Boost Quiet Sounds

Each preset can be fine-tuned with three levels of intensity—Weak, Medium, or Strong. Additionally, players can adjust the left and right audio channels independently for a fully personalized soundscape. Whether sneaking through a horror game or tracking opponents in a competitive shooter, this feature provides a real-time edge.

Global Rollout Details

The system update will roll out globally in stages starting April 24. Sony advises players to keep their consoles connected to the internet and set to auto-update to ensure they receive the features as soon as they become available.
