LG Electronics, Hinckley Recycling Unite to Drive Nigeria’s E-Waste Revolution on Earth Day 2025

In celebration of Earth Day 2025, LG Electronics is taking meaningful climate action in Nigeria through a new partnership with Hinckley Recycling, the country’s foremost e-waste management company. Together, they’ve launched an E-Waste Collection Drive—an initiative aligned with this year’s Earth Day theme: “Our Power, Our Planet.”

The program encourages Nigerians to return old and unused electronics for proper recycling, while spotlighting the environmental and health dangers of careless e-waste disposal.

With millions of devices reaching the end of their lifecycle every year, e-waste is one of the world’s fastest-growing waste streams. Earth Day 2025 calls on all of us—governments, businesses, and communities—to work together for a sustainable future powered by responsible energy and waste solutions.

LG is stepping up, creating a user-friendly recycling experience and working alongside Hinckley Recycling to guarantee that every collected item is processed ethically and in line with international standards.

From Lagos households to small businesses, Nigerians turned up in numbers to drop off unused or broken electronics, ranging from phones and microwaves to air conditioners and TVs, at Hinckley’s designated collection centres. These centres became vibrant touchpoints for community action, giving people the chance to declutter responsibly and contribute to a healthier environment. Each returned item was a step toward reducing landfill waste and recovering valuable resources.
