Tottenham Hotspur announce record £306m revenue

Despite reduced gate receipts, English Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed record revenue of £306.3m (€350.8m/$430.2m) for the 12 months through to June 30, 2017, up from £209.8m in the previous year.

The figure of £306.3m sees a significant rise on 2016's £209.8m and is a result of increased TV revenue, their highest ever Premier League finish in 2016-17 and a Champions League group-stage campaign.

Tottenham said progress on the stadium has “significantly accelerated” since the demolition of White Hart Lane in May 2017 and work on various supporting amenities is also underway.

As Tottenham played home Uefa Champions League games at Wembley Stadium, the club was able to sell more tickets for these matches, which in turn boosted gate receipts and prize money from £18.7m to £44.6m. Spurs also played in the Europa League, but games were staged at White Hart Lane.
