Airtel’s 4G in Ibadan will drive economic growth - ZTE

ZTE Corporation, a global telecommunications equipment, networks and mobile devices company headquartered in Shenzhen, China has partnered with leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria, to roll-out 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) in Ibadan, Oyo State.



The roll-out was announced at a VVIP event in Ibadan on the 13th of February and it was attended by several dignitaries and key opinion leaders including the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Adeyemo and Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye.

Speaking during the event, Danny Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of ZTE Nigeria Limited, said ZTE ensured a best in class deployment of 4G in Ibadan in line with its global best practices and assured that residents of Ibadan will enjoy a seamless and joyous mobile Internet experience courtesy of Airtel and ZTE.

He further noted that Airtel’s 4G deployment in Ibadan will help drive economic growth in the Pacesetter State.

The event, which held at the Ibadan Civic Centre featured cultural performances, performance poetry sessions and well-choreographed dance styles that highlighted thematic preoccupations bordering on Technology, Culture and Economic Development.
