Ogun NIPR to hold 2015 Colloquium Tomorrow

Olusegun Obasanjo International Library Main Auditorium, Abeokuta will play host to the 2015 Colloquium/Award Ceremony which will take place tomorrow Thursday, August 13, by 10am prompt.

Themed: "Image Makers' Perspective In The Re-Invention Of The Nigerian Nation". The lead speaker would be the Secretary General of the African Public Relations Association (APPRA), Mr. Yomi Badejo- Okusanya, while Professor Lai Oso, of the Department of Mass Communications, Lagos State University is the Chairman. The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun is to declare the event open.

In a release signed by the Chairman of the Chapter, Mr. Tope Adaramola, the choice of the theme of the colloquium is hinged on the present concerted moves to revive the Nigerian nation and propel her to play catalytic roles in global development.

He said that the Nigerian nation had suffered serious image slur as a result of the decay in the system, and that this had denied the country of her pivotal place in the comity of progressive nations.

The colloquium will rekindle national consciousness through the robust platform that will attract dignitaries from different sectors of the society.

Highpoints of the event would be the presentation of Awards to distinguished personalities like Iyalode Alaba Lawson; Engineer Biodun Fijabi, and Alhaji Jimoh Popoola, for their unparalleled entrepreneurship spirit in the state, while the NIPR Technocrats Award goes to the Ogun State Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle.
