AFP launches AFPTV Live video service

International news agency Agence France-Presse announced Thursday the launch of AFPTV Live, a service offering more than 500 real-time video feeds a year for television networks around the world.

"Through this new service, AFP is greatly accelerating its production of live videos by tripling their number from June 2015," the agency said in a statement.

AFPTV Live will notably offer television subscribers live feeds of international summits as well as sporting and cultural events.

Already, during the attacks in Paris in January this year, and the Germanwings crash in the French Alps in March, the news agency provided "dozens of hours of live video feeds," AFP said.

"Live coverage will now extend to all countries," the statement said.

As well as the live feeds, AFP produces some 200 videos a day.
