Pinterest Unveils Its First Video-Like Ad

Visual-bookmarking site Pinterest yesterday unveiled a video-like ad called “cinematic pins".  The ads play short animations when a user scrolls up or down the page, and reveal a slightly longer version of the video clip when clicked on.

The company also rolled out several other new tools and pricing options for advertisers.

Pinterest says it has signed up a number of launch partners for its “cinematic ad,” including Nestle, Gap, L’Oreal, Banana Republic and Target.

The firm which only officially launched its advertising business in January, is hustling to prove its $11 billion value to investors, according to Wall Street Journal.
