Nishikori to headline Japan’s new IPTL franchise

The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) has added a Japanese franchise for the second season of the team tournament later this year.

Japan Warriors’ playing roster is headed by the country’s men’s world no.4 and 2014 US Open finalist Kei Nishikori.

Five-time women’s grand slam winner Maria Sharapova is also on the Japan line-up alongside Vasek Pospisil, Leander Paes, Marat Safin, Daniela Hantuchova, Lucas Pouille and Kurumi Nara.

IPTL 2015 will be staged from December 2-20, with Japan competing against the established franchises from the inaugural edition based in Singapore, India, the Philippines and the UAE.
