Burson-Marsteller Appoints Andrew Cecil to Lead EMEA Public Affairs

Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and communications firm, yesterday announced that Andrew Cecil has been appointed Chairman of the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Public Affairs practice.

Andrew Cecil has 20 years of leadership experience in public and corporate affairs, with a particular focus on the technology, media and retail industries. He will be based in Brussels, where Burson-Marsteller has a team of over 20 nationalities, and will lead the agency’s practice throughout the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Andrew Cecil joins Burson-Marsteller from Amazon, where he led the European Public Policy function. Andrew previously worked at Yahoo! and began his career in consultancy. He has extensive experience leading complex, multi-market assignments on business-critical political, regulatory and legislative issues. Andrew is a Law Graduate of Bristol University and holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School.
