APN Outdoor wins Tender for Sydney Airport Advertising Contract

Sydney Airport has signed a new five-and-a-half-year agreement with APN Outdoor for the advertising rights at the T1 international terminal, T2 domestic terminal and airport exterior signage.

The agreement, which follows a competitive tender, is one of the most valuable out of home advertising contracts in Australia and New Zealand, noted the airport.

“We look forward to continuing our long-term partnership with APN Outdoor to transform Sydney Airport’s advertising portfolio,” Sydney Airport Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kerrie Mather said. “APN Outdoor has taken a leadership position in out of home and digital advertising, so it’s well placed to deliver an enhanced media platform to better engage with customers travelling through Sydney Airport.”

Over the next 12 months, Sydney Airport and APN Outdoor plan to consolidate the airport advertising portfolio by investing in new signage and digitizing existing media at new and refurbished sites across both terminal precincts.

APN Outdoor CEO Richard Herring said: “Sydney Airport is a world class facility and Australia’s gateway airport. It has long been known as the premium outdoor advertising environment in Australia and we are looking forward to taking its offering to the next level.

“Backed by an extensive redevelopment plan, we will ensure our clients have the opportunity to connect their brands with this unique traveller audience in a high quality environment.

“The addition of T2, Australia’s busiest domestic terminal, to our airport portfolio will significantly enhance our reach of this audience and generate exciting opportunities to improve engagement.”

APN Outdoor’s airport advertising network includes Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Auckland and Christchurch airports.
