Felipe Oliveira Baptista Canceled Paris Fashion Week Show

Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista has announced that he is suspending his ready-to-wear line for an undetermined amount of time. The designer has also canceled his fall 2014 runway show, which was scheduled for Wednesday.

"Séverine and I decided to take time off to think about the future of our collaboration and brand and reevaluate its structure and existence," Baptista told WWD.

"We will most likely venture into another design or creative field. We would like to thank everyone who has supported and has worked with us over these extremely rich and fantastic 10 years. It is a well-thought-out and positive decision. It's the end of a chapter, not the book."
After winning the Festival d'Hyères' grand prix in 2002, Baptista created his brand in 2003 with his wife, Séverine Oliveira Baptista. He showed on Paris' ready-to-wear calendar from 2009 to 2013, and he also showed on the couture calendar in the French capital from 2005 to 2009. Then in 2010, Baptista was named the creative director of Lacoste.
