Lagos Leads as Star League Gathers Momentum

One week after the commencement of the unique Star League ‘Text and Play’, Lagos State is currently leading the league table with 4, 214 participants and Emeka Nwankwo sitting comfortably at the top with 22, 600 points. Coming second in the league table is Enugu State with 3,310 participants.

With an aggregate point of 12, 260 Igwe I. tops the Enugu state league standings. Anambra occupies the third place with 2, 209 participants while Onukaogu Ugonna currently leads with 17, 350 accumulated points. The fast increase in participants and accumulated points across the league table in the country is an indication that consumers are very excited about it. The figures quoted above were accurate as at the time of going to press.

Star League – ‘Text & Play’ is an exciting avenue for consumers to display their creativity as they enjoy their favourite Star lager beer. The pan Nigeria activity promises to excite as well as avail consumers the opportunity of winning fantastic prizes.

 The Star League-Text & Play will run from April 2nd to May 31st, 2013. Consumers will look under the crown cork of their Star beer bottle for a unique code and SMS the code under with their full name, age and state of residence to a short code 30383. The consumer will instantly receive a feedback message stating the number of points the consumer has earned. The SMS system will work with all major telecoms operators in the country.

 The mobile phone number used to send the code will be used to register the consumer on the Star website. Consumers will have the unique opportunity to check their “standing” on the “Star League Table” at (www.star-nigeria.com) where they will see their position on the State League compared to other consumers. Points will be accumulated over the period of the promo using the registered mobile number.

At the end of the offer Period, participants with the highest points from each “State League” will be rewarded as follows: For each of the 36 States and Abuja: Top 15 winners get iPads with customized sleeves; Next 550 winners get Premium head phones while Next 1000 winners get Exclusive Star DVDs.

It would be recalled that at the press briefing heralding the promo in Lagos, Mr. Walter Drenth, Marketing Director Nigerian Breweries Plc reiterated that  “Star Lager Beer, the No.1 beer in the country has continued to keep its consumers actively engaged all year round through its exciting consumer engagement platforms that cut through music, football and exciting promotions and reward programmes”.
