Airtel’s CEO, Ogunsanya, Advises Youths to Brace Up for Leadership

Guinness Nigeria Plc undertakes N39.7 billion Rights Issue

Following shareholder approval received in January, Guinness Nigeria Plc has now received clearance of the issue documents from the Securities and Exchange Commission and approvals from the Nigerian Stock Exchange to list the new Guinness Nigeria shares on The Nigerian Stock Exchange. The funds raised will support the Company in executing its strategy in the context of ongoing external economic challenges.

The company plans to raise N39,700,688,598  by way of rights to existing shareholders, on the basis of 5 new shares for every 11 shares held by shareholders, whose names appeared in the register of members of the Company as at 15 March 2017 at an issue price ofN58 per share. The issue price represents a discount of 15% per cent to the Company’s closing share price on 14 March 2017, being the last day prior to the announcement of the proposed Rights Issue by The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Macron Takes Over as New Kit Supplier of Italian Rugby Federation

Italian sportswear firm Macron has been appointed as the new kit partner of the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR). Macron replaces German sportswear, Adidas.

In the eight-year partnership deal announced on Monday, Macron will be providing kit and technical equipment for the Italian national teams.

Siemens and Bayern Munich forge global partnership

German Bundesliga football club Bayern Munich has entered into a three-year partnership with technology conglomerate Siemens.

Forex: CBN Injects Another $195m Into Market

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in continuation of its drive to ensure liquidity and stability in the foreign exchange market, has injected the total sum of $195 million into various segments of the inter-bank foreign exchange market.

A breakdown of figures released by the CBN on Monday, July 3, 2017, shows that the sum of $100 million was offered to authorized dealers in the wholesale window, just as the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) window was allocated the sum of $50 million. Those seeking forex for the purpose of BTA/PTA, tuition and medical bills, among other invisibles, received the sum of $45 million.

Electronic Device Ban Fully Lifted On Flights From Abu Dhabi To The United States

Following the successful validation of security measures at the US Preclearance facility at Abu Dhabi airport over the weekend, the US Department of Homeland Security to lift the electronic devices ban on flights between Abu Dhabi and the United States.

According to a source from Etihad, “effective immediately, the removal of the restrictions allows passengers flying to the US to carry all laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices onto the aircraft, subject to enhanced security measures.

More thrills and amazing performances on episode three of Airtel The Voice Nigeria

It was yet another episode of thrilling performances, disappointment and elation as the third episode of Airtel The Voice Nigeria aired on Sunday, the 2nd of July on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv 151) and Africa Magic Urban (DStv 153). At the end of episode three, the coaches had each added two talents to their respective teams.

Last night's episode ended with #TeamTiimi signing up Blessed Eke and Godwin while Obichi Marshall and Arewa Comfort, who got all four coaches turning, joined #TeamWaje. NSE Records 403.1% Jump in Foreign Inflows in May

According to the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) report which was recently released, the monthly foreign inflows through the NSE increased by 403.09% to N73.15 billion in May 2017 from N14.54 billion in April.

Albeit foreign inflows outpaced outflows, foreign outflows also increased by 178.63% from N7.91 billion in April to N22.04 billion in May 2017, an indication of improved foreign investor appetite/ renewed foreign interest in Nigerian equities which analysts said was been responsible for the recent rally in equities.
