Emirates is introducing a range of measures designed to give customers greater flexibility, choice and peace of mind when planning and managing their journeys.
From unlimited free date changes on flights to Dubai to comprehensive travel insurance and enhanced benefits for Emirates Skywards members, the airline says the measures are intended to provide greater confidence from the time of booking until passengers reach their destinations.
Here are five ways Emirates is making travel more flexible:
1. Unlimited free date changes to Dubai
From 10 August 2026, customers travelling to Dubai can change their travel dates as many times as they need, free of charge, across eligible fare types.
The offer applies to Economy Saver through to Flex fares, as well as Special, Saver and Flex fares in Business Class.
Economy Flex Plus, Premium Economy, Business Flex Plus and First Class fares will continue to offer full flexibility.
2. Lower-cost refunds
Emirates has also significantly reduced refund fees on flights to Dubai.
For Economy passengers, refund fees are now US$50 on Saver fares and US$25 on Flex fares. In Business Class, the fees are US$50 for Special and Saver fares and US$25 for Flex fares.**
Combined with unlimited free date changes to Dubai, the changes allow customers to modify or cancel their bookings with significantly lower penalties, depending on their circumstances.
3. One free date change across the Emirates network
Customers travelling anywhere across the Emirates network can receive one free date change on tickets booked from 2 April 2026, including journeys connecting through Dubai.
Customers can also hold a fare for 24 hours at no charge while they finalise their travel plans.*
4. Comprehensive Travel Cover
Emirates' Comprehensive Travel Cover is an industry-first insurance product designed to provide protection across a range of travel-related circumstances.
The policy includes enhanced conflict cover, with reimbursement of medical expenses of up to US$25,000, as well as a free trip extension of up to 30 days. The cover is not restricted by government travel advice.
Customers are also covered for trip cancellation, baggage delays and loss, unlimited worldwide medical expenses and emergency evacuation.
Available at an accessible premium in 27 countries, the cover can be purchased when booking through Emirates or added to an existing reservation through Manage Booking.
Where flights are disrupted, Emirates will provide accommodation directly for affected customers. If onward connections on other airlines are disrupted, or Emirates services are unavailable, customers will be rebooked to their destination at no additional cost, including when cancellations result from airspace disruptions.
5. Greater flexibility and savings for Emirates Skywards members
Emirates Skywards members can also benefit from greater flexibility, additional opportunities to progress through membership tiers and increased savings when using their Miles.
Until 31 August 2026, members can benefit from:
- 20% fewer Tier Miles required to reach Silver, Gold and Platinum status.
- 20% bonus Tier Miles on Emirates and flydubai flights.
- Greater savings with Cash+Miles, with a special rate of 2,000 Miles = USD 30, compared with the usual USD 15, when using Miles towards Emirates or flydubai flights, excess baggage, lounge access and seat selection.
The latest measures underline Emirates' focus on giving customers greater control over their travel arrangements, particularly when plans change unexpectedly.
