Meta has appointed Dina Powell McCormick, a veteran banking executive and former senior US government official, as its new President and Vice-Chairman, strengthening its top leadership as the company enters its next phase of growth.
In the role, McCormick will join Meta’s management team and play a central role in shaping the company’s strategy and execution across its global operations.
“Dina’s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep relationships around the world, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta manage this next phase of growth as the company’s president and vice chairman,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s Founder and CEO.
McCormick brings decades of experience spanning global finance and public service. She previously served as a partner at Goldman Sachs, where she led the firm’s Global Sovereign Investment Banking business. Most recently, she was Vice Chair, President and Head of Global Client Services at merchant bank BDT & MSD Partners.
Her public sector career includes serving as Deputy National Security Advisor under President Donald Trump, as well as holding several senior positions during the George W. Bush administration, including Assistant Secretary of State under Secretary Condoleezza Rice. McCormick is married to Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA).
She joined Meta’s board in April 2024 but stepped down in December, returning just weeks later in a significantly expanded leadership capacity.
McCormick’s appointment follows another high-profile hire by Meta earlier this month. Curtis Joseph Mahoney, formerly Corporate Vice President and General Counsel at Microsoft, was named Meta’s Chief Legal Officer. Mahoney also previously served as a Deputy US Trade Representative during the Trump administration.
Together, the appointments underline Meta’s efforts to reinforce its leadership bench as it navigates an increasingly complex global environment and positions the business for long-term growth.
