LG Electronics Nigeria has issued an urgent consumer alert warning Nigerians about the growing circulation of counterfeit LG televisions across the market.

The warning follows the emergence of disturbing online videos showing unauthorised individuals packaging non-LG television sets in fake LG cartons and labels, misleading unsuspecting buyers.

According to the company, the counterfeit televisions are neither manufactured nor distributed by LG Electronics Nigeria or any of its approved partners. LG cautioned that such products pose significant risks to consumers, including poor performance, potential electrical hazards and the absence of any LG warranty or after-sales support.

“We are deeply concerned by the spread of these counterfeit TVs and the potential harm to Nigerian families. At LG, consumer safety and product quality are our top priorities. LG Electronics Nigeria advised consumers to protect themselves by purchasing LG televisions only from authorised LG dealers and recognised retail outlets. The company warned that unusually low prices are often a red flag for counterfeit products.

Consumers are further encouraged to register and verify their LG products through the official LG Africa support platform or by contacting LG’s customer service team for confirmation and assistance.
