CES 2026: LG Set to Launch Micro RGB evo, Its Most Advanced LCD Television Yet

LG Electronics (LG) is set to unveil its first-ever flagship RGB television at CES 2026 with the launch of the LG Micro RGB evo, a CES 2026 Innovation Awards winner. The new model marks a major leap forward in LCD technology, building on LG’s long-standing OLED expertise while moving decisively beyond MiniLED.

At the heart of the LG Micro RGB evo is advanced Micro RGB Technology, which uses LG TV’s smallest individual RGB LEDs to deliver a new level of precision. Drawing on 13 years of OLED technical excellence, LG applies OLED-style control to each RGB LED backlight, significantly enhancing colour accuracy and contrast performance in the RGB category.

Powering this innovation is the newly upgraded Dual AI Engine-based α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen 3. Featuring Dual Super Upscaling, the processor can simultaneously handle two types of AI upscaling, improving sharpness while maintaining natural, well-balanced images. The result is a viewing experience designed to deliver exceptional clarity, depth and immersion.

This processing capability enables RGB Primary Color Ultra, a breakthrough technology that produces a full spectrum of colour reproduction. As a result, the LG Micro RGB evo has been certified by Intertek for 100 per cent colour gamut coverage across BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, representing the highest possible level of colour reproduction. This makes the display suitable for demanding applications ranging from digital content creation and HDR cinema to next-generation visual technologies.

Colour performance is further enhanced by Micro Dimming Ultra, which precisely controls more than a thousand dimming zones. This allows the television to achieve outstanding contrast among LCD TVs, accurately managing brightness and colour to reveal fine detail in both the darkest shadows and brightest highlights.

Beyond picture quality, LG has focused on elevating the overall user experience. The LG Micro RGB evo runs on the award-winning webOS platform, offering deep personalisation through features such as Voice ID, AI Picture and Sound Wizard, and a customised “My Page” home screen. An upgraded AI Concierge, AI Chatbot and AI Search are designed to help viewers easily discover content and access relevant information.

“Achieving the utmost visual fidelity is the goal of any display, and with the LG Micro RGB evo, we have achieved a milestone previously thought impossible for this category," said Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “This launch marks the evolution of the RGB TV, redefining industry standards to offer uncompromising performance for customers who demand exceptional color accuracy.”

The LG Micro RGB evo, model MRGB95, will be available in 100-inch, 86-inch and 75-inch screen sizes. Visitors to CES 2026 will be able to experience LG’s latest home entertainment innovations at the company’s booth (#15004, Las Vegas Convention Center) from January 6 to 9.
