Emirates Skywards Launches Flight Rewards for Premium Economy Travel

Emirates Skywards, the award-winning loyalty programme of Emirates and flydubai, has expanded its rewards portfolio by introducing flight redemptions for Premium Economy travel. The move gives more than 35 million members worldwide the chance to use Skywards Miles for Classic Rewards and Upgrade Rewards in the airline’s highly sought-after Premium Economy cabin.

The new offering reinforces Skywards’ reputation for delivering more travel choices and exclusive benefits, further enhancing its members’ journey with Emirates.

Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, said “We’re thrilled to announce the introduction of flight rewards on Emirates’ highly coveted Premium Economy cabin. This has been in development for some time and comes following the huge success, positive feedback, and strong demand by members to utilise Miles on Premium Economy – especially on popular long-haul destinations such as London, Sydney, Melbourne, and New York.

The offer will initially be available exclusively to our Skywards members, with plans to extend to other airline partners in the future. We are confident this enhancement will further enrich the travel experience, staying true to our brand promise of always flying customers better. We look forward to more of our members now having the opportunity to experience Emirates’ newest, luxurious cabin with a service that rivals many airlines’ Business Class.”

Redeem from Just 7,000 Miles

Members can now use Skywards Miles starting from 15,000 (one-way) to book a full Premium Economy ticket.
Upgrades from Economy to Premium Economy start from 7,020 Miles (one-way) and can be requested ahead of departure or at the airport check-in counter, subject to availability.

The Emirates Miles Calculator is available online to help members plan their redemptions.

In addition, Skywards recently launched Classic Rewards on all flydubai flights from 5,000 Miles and updated its Cash+Miles rates. Redemption activity continues to grow, with nearly 500,000 flight tickets booked using Skywards Miles between June and August 2025 to destinations including London, Paris, New York, and Bangkok.

Fly Better in Emirates Premium Economy

Emirates remains the only airline in the region to offer Premium Economy. The cabin has earned global recognition, including ‘Best Premium Economy’ by AirlineRatings.com at the 2024 Airline Excellence Awards.

Passengers flying in Premium Economy enjoy:

  • Dedicated airport check-in desks
  • Spacious cream leather seats with up to 40-inch seat pitch, calf rests, and footrests
  • Generous dining options with a curated premium wine list
  • Emirates’ latest ice inflight entertainment system, featuring a 13.3-inch HD screen and more than 6,500 channels of movies, TV, news, and music
Premium Economy is currently available on routes to 66+ cities worldwide.

Emirates’ $5 Billion Cabin Upgrade

As part of a US$5 billion retrofit programme, Emirates has already refurbished 67 aircraft (32 A380s and 35 Boeing 777s) with the new Premium Economy cabin. The airline has also welcomed nine new Airbus A350s fitted with Premium Economy, with 56 more on order.

By March 2026, Emirates will operate Premium Economy on flights to 68 cities, offering nearly 2 million seats annually – with capacity set to double to 4 million seats per year by the end of 2026.
