Toyota has revealed the all-new sixth-generation RAV4, a robust evolution of its iconic SUV that introduces groundbreaking advancements in electrification and digital innovation. Set to debut in 2026, the next-generation RAV4 will be the first vehicle to feature Toyota’s Arene software platform, marking a pivotal step toward fully software-defined vehicles.
Building on its reputation for reliability and versatility, the RAV4 continues its legacy with more than 2.5 million units sold in Europe since 1994 and over 15 million globally. The new model delivers a bolder exterior design with a more rugged front profile and a striking new model logo, while maintaining similar dimensions to its predecessor. Inside, the redesigned cabin offers greater comfort, intuitive controls, and a refined, spacious atmosphere.The integration of the Arene software platform represents a significant milestone. Arene enables faster development and deployment of cutting-edge features, including Toyota’s most advanced safety and driver-assistance systems. The RAV4 will also debut Toyota’s latest multimedia system, offering enhanced connectivity, navigation, and security features—all delivered with unprecedented speed and flexibility.
In a clear signal of Toyota’s commitment to sustainable mobility, the all-new RAV4 will be offered exclusively in Europe as either a plug-in hybrid or full hybrid. The latest plug-in hybrid variant showcases a 22.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, enabling an electric range of up to 100 km (WLTP combined)—sufficient for most daily driving needs. This marks a 30% improvement in battery capacity over the previous model.
Charging capabilities are also significantly upgraded. A new 11 kW AC charger halves home and public charging times, while a rare-for-its-class 50 kW DC fast charger can restore the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, depending on conditions.
A revised plug-in hybrid system pairs the battery with a 150 kW front motor, delivering a combined 304 DIN hp in AWD-i specification for 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 5.8 seconds. The FWD plug-in hybrid variant debuts with 268 DIN hp, extending the electrified range to more customers.
Performance is matched by precision, with geo-fencing technology that dynamically switches between EV and hybrid modes based on traffic, route history, and environmental zones. A new thermal management system keeps the battery at optimal temperature, ensuring consistent performance across diverse conditions.
With its upgraded platform, smarter electrification, and digital-first experience, the all-new RAV4 reaffirms Toyota’s leadership in sustainable mobility—delivering on the brand’s multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality, without compromising performance or convenience.
