And the Winners of the NES25 startup pitch competition are ...

Following a keenly contested pitch with 10 finalists the 25th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES25) Startup Pitch Competition, Doctoora, a health care startup has emerged the overall winner with 5 million Naira reward.

Doctoora beat nine other applicants to win the first position. Tiny Heart took the second position thereby going home with 3 million Naira.

Doctoora is a health tech startup providing healthcare professionals with medical facility rentals for their private practice. It also runs an online marketplace where consumers can search and book for healthcare professionals within the Doctoora network. The startup was founded by Debo Odulana.

Six hundred and eighty-nine (689) applications were received for the startup pitching competition and after a rigorous selection process, 10 finalists were selected.

The ten finalists were Agriple, Notitia, Phaheem Pharmaceuticals Limited, Tiny Hearts Technology, AfriNET Power Tech Solutions, Doctoora E-Health Ltd, GatePass, Loystar, Gricd Services Limited and Green Axis

Out of the 10 finalists for the NESG startup pitching competition, 60 percent belong to the tech industry, with 50 percent software enabled pitches. Entries were also received from a number of industries including Food & Agriculture, Tech, Health, Waste/Environment, Industry/Manufacturing and Energy. Furthermore, 40 percent of the companies that made the final list have women in leadership positions.
