Mahama chairs African PR Conference in Rwanda

Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama will today, Tuesday, 14 May 2019 Chair the opening of the 31st Annual African Public Relations Conference in Kigali, Rwanda.

A Communications Practitioner and Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, Mr. Mahama is expected to be inducted as an Honorary Fellow of the African Public Relations Association (APRA).

The three-day conference is on the theme: “Africa and storytelling, changing the narratives” and will discuss among others, new trends in Public Relations, the influence of New Media and Technology on the practice of Public Relations, creativity and storytelling, false narratives about Africa: an evidential rebuttal and a review of a reputation matters survey.

APRA Rwanda 2019 has the theme ‘Africa & Storytelling. The African Union Commission (AUC), the International Public Relation Association (IPRA), International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO), Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB), Public Relations Association of Rwanda (PRAR) and National Associations endorse APRA across Africa.

“President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame will deliver the keynote address while former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama will chair the opening ceremony.

“Other dignitaries expected at the occasion include the Deputy Chairperson of African Union Commission (AUC) Ambassador Kwesi Quartey and media mogul, Dele Momodu.
