NITDA Unveils New Logo To Reflect Agency Mandate

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has redesigned its logo to reflect its mandate.



NITDA is a public service institution established by NITDA Act 2007 as the ICT policy implementing arm of the Federal Ministry of Communication of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Committed to implementing the National Information Technology Policy. The agency mandate is to create a framework for the planning, research, development, standardization, application, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and regulation of Information Technology practices in Nigeria.

Specifically, Section 6 (a & c) of the Act mandates NITDA to create a framework for the planning, research, development, standardization, application, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and regulation of Information Technology practices, activities and systems in Nigeria; and render advisory services in all information technology matters to the public and private sectors.

Although no official launch was done as the agency adopt the new logo, it is believed that the new logo is to better reflection of the Agency’s mandate.

According to the Agency, it is also pushing for an amendment of the Act to reflect operations in the present day IT world.
