Barcelona sets new record for club revenue

Spanish football club, FC Barcelona, have declared record revenues of €679m ($749.6m) for its last season.

The declared revenue has slight increase as compared to the projected revenue, as Barcelona last year estimated revenue for 2015-16 was €633m.

“The Board has approved the closure of the financial results for the 2015/16 season, which showed record revenues of €679million, representing a substantial increase of the figure originally budgeted for this area, with a net profit of €29million after tax,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
The Board was understandably pleased with the figures, which sits in line with their long-term targets for the club.

The club is on course to hit the marks of a strategic plan that targets revenue of €1B ($1.1B) in 2021.
