AccorHotels become 11th sponsor of Paris 2024

Global hospitality group AccorHotels have been announced as the 11th sponsor of Paris’ bid for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The bid has a revenue target of €30 million (US$33.54 million), and the new deal with AccorHotels brings its current sponsorship revenue up to €22 million (US$24.59 million).

The remaining revenue is expected to be achieved later this month as the final raft of sponsors is secured.

AccorHotels, a French-based firm, recently opened France’s biggest multi-purpose auditorium, the AccorHotels Arena. If Paris were to win the bid, the state of the art venue would be used to host the Olympic judo and basketball competitions.

“We are delighted to welcome AccorHotels as official bid partners,” said Bernard Lapasset, Paris 2024 co-chairman.

“Paris is a global leader in tourism, and it’s great to have the backing of such a prestigious company from the international hospitality industry. AccorHotel’s expertise and experience in working with international sports events is a huge asset for our bid.”

Paris is competing against Budapest, Rome, and Los Angeles for the opportunity to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
