Zuriel Meets Her 16th World Leader - Talks Peace

The 70th Session of the UN General Assembly formally closed a few days ago in New York. It was one of the most symbolic and significant edition in recent times, not just because the assembly was addressed by the Pope, but because never in so many years has the glaring effect of conflict and refugees been so pressing, and the need to find solution so urgent.

However, perhaps the best kept secret for the entire session's side events was the quiet diplomacy of a 13 year old Girl - Zuriel Oduwole.

After a meeting between the UN Secretary General and the Presidents of Venezuela and Guyana, 2 countries on the verge of a military conflict, Zuriel added her voice to the peace efforts, but using the need to ensure the safety and education of children, as her 'weapon' of choice. She met first with the President of Guyana - H.E. President David Granger - her 16th world leader and head of government, in her peace making role.
