Konga sponsors 10 Children to Audax Code School Graduate

Ten children who have benefited from Konga’s sponsorship to the Audax Code School have successfully graduated. The Code School is an initiative of the Audax, aimed at fostering a long lasting interest in technology based careers and developing vital problem solving skills that will be essential in the future.

Konga was happy to be part of this initiative as it is not only a technology driven organization but sees technology as the future of e-commerce and most businesses in Africa. These 10 children who would not have been able to afford these classes were delighted and felt privileged to be among the 93 kids who graduated from the 2015 summer classes. During the period of the training, the kids were exposed to real life practical and were allowed develop personal websites and design their own games in addition to teaching them the place of coding in the fast growing digital age.

Speaking during the graduation and presentation of certificates to the graduands, Nneka Obiano, Konga’s Marketing Associate, said Konga was happy to invest in the future of these young ones eager to learn how to use technology to solve problems in the near future.

 According to her, “As a tech-based company empowering the next generation of tech minds out of Nigeria, this initiative naturally aligns with our focus. We are particularly pleased to have been part of empowering these motherless children to acquire the web skills like their peers in the society.”

 “We believe that the country has many children with the potentials of being among the best in the world in the area of information technology if given the right exposure and encouragement. We also believe that these motherless children could be part of this number,” Obiano continued.


Olutunu Oyelola, Child Experience Coordinator, of one of the organizations that benefited from this initiative, informed that the candidates always came back home after classes feeling excited and inspired about the new things they learnt about coding and technology daily.

 “Usually during the summer, our children go to the beach and cinemas but this time they were given an opportunity to add to their knowledge by doing more practical and useful thing. This is commendable and, on behalf of the entire organisation, we say a big thank you to Konga for this kind gesture,” she said.

In his own remarks, Emeka Onyenwe, Audax Solutions’ Business Director, thanked Konga for responding to their call for sponsorship, praying that it continues this partnership with Audax in the years to come. He noted that the Audax Code School came to be as a result of the challenges facing web solutions companies sourcing personnel in Nigeria. He further noted that the school aims at training children in web programming so that before they get to adulthood, they would have honed these skills to a satisfactory level.
