Rising Golf Star Paul Howard Joins Octagon Family

Global sports and entertainment leader Octagon has announced the signing of new golf client Paul Howard. Octagon will help to grow Howard’s rising career in his first year as a professional.

“Paul is a great addition to the Octagon family and we’re very excited to bring him aboard,” said Stuart Cage, Director of Octagon’s Global Golf division. “As Paul is just beginning his professional career, we are confident and thrilled about our opportunity to assist him in achieving his dream. He is a solid player and even better young man off the course. We are looking forward to working with him for years to come.”

Paul Howard, 24, had a decorated career as an amateur player in both England and Australia. A dominant 2014 year for Howard, the Edge Hill University graduate was promoted to England’s Elite Squad and won the South American Amateur Championship in Columbia and The Pines Trophy at Hillside Golf Club.

Additionally, Howard was the runner up in the Hampshire Hog and was part of the six man England team for the European Men’s Team Championship at Lunna Golf Club in Finland.

Having reached a world amateur ranking of 20th, Howard was supported by England Golf to compete in the American Amateur Championship. At the start of 2015, Howard traveled to Australia as he was selected as one of three players to be sent down under by English Golf. While in Australia, Howard won the New South Wales Amateur Championship at Avondale Golf Club near Sydney.

Named a member of the Walker Cup squad, Howard was part of the England team that beat 15 other national teams to win the European Nations Cup at La Reserva, Sotogrande in Spain. In March 2015, Howard officially declared his professional status and intention to compete on the Challenge Tour.
