Jovago.com Partners With TEDxUnilag, Offers Internship Opportunities To Students

Jovago, www.jovago.com – Africa’s largest online hotel booking platform has partnered with the TEDxUnilag team to bring the renowned TED event to the University of Lagos while also offering internship opportunities to the students. This partnership is done in conjunction with other AIG ventures Carmudi and Kaymu.

The TEDxUnilag event themed ‘Breaking Through the Box’ will have hundreds of Lagos’ and Unilag’s most impassioned TEDx enthusiasts come together on Friday, March 20 for a day of networking and dialogue. The event will take place at Julius Berger Hall and will feature an incredible line-up of speakers on topics ranging from innovations in education to health to technology and the arts. Attendees will also have an opportunity to network at an on-site lunch event.

“The combination of a diverse group of speakers that will form a mix that is sure to lead to exciting new ideas” said Oluwatosin Adeshokan TEDxUnilag founder and organizing committee member. “The event will offer the Unilag community an opportunity to share its passion and ideas with communities in Lagos and the world”.

This partnership with the TEDxUnilag event and the internship offer is part of Jovago’s efforts to contribute to making Yaba the next technological hub in Africa by building tight links to boost the entrepreneurship drive in the area and securing strategic partnerships to grow the ecosystem. Yaba, a popular area in the Lagos metropolis has grown to become Nigeria’s e-commerce hub attracting a nest of technology and start-up companies, earning it the name, Nigeria’s Silicon Valley.

The independently produced event, operated under a license from TED, was organized by community volunteers and is aimed at creating dialogue as well as giving people a forum to share their passions, ideas and experiences. The event is sponsored by Jovago, Carmudi, and Kaymu among others. Partners include Young and Cerebral, College to Communities, ArtsandAfrica, and Stand to End Rape.
