African Football Star Celebrates Son's Birthday in Spiderman Style

No one knew what Gabon and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was up to at the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday until he headed a wonderful second goal to give die Schwarz-Gelben a record fifth Supercup triumph.

The Gabonese celebrated his goal with his Spiderman mask to the delight to the spectators in Borussia's 2-0 Supercup win over FC Bayern München.

The celebration, for which he became known in France, had not yet been seen in German football since his move to Borussia Dortmund from AS Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2013.

Aubameyang has now revealed that his son was the reason for spiderman-celebration.

“I had promised it to my son as a third birthday present,” he said after Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win over FC Bayern München to lift the Supercup. It was the perfect moment to show the extroverted side of his character and could be the moment that confirmed the man's reputation as a BVB fan favourite.

Commenting on his team performance, Aubameyang said: "We're delighted to have made this start to the season and to be in such rhythm. The Spiderman mask was for my son. I promised him I'd do it for his third birthday and I wanted to score for him. I think Kevin Großkreutz has the mask now."
