Federal Government of Nigeria appoints new DG for NITDA

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Mr Peter Jack as the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency.

This is contained in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja by Mr Sam Nwaobasi, Special Assistant, Media, to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The statement said the appointment was for a first term of four years, with effect from the April 7.

The new DG studied at the International Information Technology Policy Programme, College of Engineering, Seoul National University, South Korea, and holds a Bachelors degree of science (BSc) in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife, a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Lagos.

He was a director and technical assistant to the previous DG of NITDA, a position he held for seven years, while he also designed and implemented the Niger Delta Youth Computer Training Programme for the Niger Delta Development Commission in 2003.
