UCC announces ACIA Awards 2014

The Uganda Communications Commission has announced the 2014 edition of the ACIA Awards, which recognise outstanding innovations from local companies and individuals in the development and adoption of ICTs in Uganda.

The awards Gala which will take place on Friday May 16, 2014 is in five categories: Digital Content Award, ICT for Development Award, Service Excellence Award, Business Excellence Award and Business Excellence Award.

According to UCC, plaques and certificates shall be awarded to all the winners in the various categories.


Uganda’s Rising Stars
A laptop computer with paid monthly subscription for 1GB Internet package for one year. In addition, the school and teacher that guided the winner(s) shall be recognised.

Uganda’s ICT Visionaries     
Implementation support of 5,000 USD towards commercialisation

Business Excellence and Service Excellence
A sponsored trip to attend the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2015

ICT for Development and Digital Content     
Implementation support of 10, 000 USD towards advancement of their innovations
