APCON ranked 97th among 'companies to work' in Nigeria

Advertising’s foremost regulatory body, the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), has been rated the 97th best company to work for in Nigeria.

The 2013 Best Companies to Work rankings include 50 multinationals, 45 majorly Nigerian companies and 12 government agencies. To find the companies that were the best places to work, Jobberman.com conducted more than 10,000 surveys of employees in Nigeria. Over 5000 companies were submitted by 10,482 respondents (experienced, entry level and exec management). 89% of those who filled the survey were gainfully employed. Only companies with at least 100 full-time permanent employees were considered.

This position was communicated to APCON in a congratulatory message from Mr. Ayodeji Adewunmi, president and CEO of Jobberman.com, to the Registrar/Chief Executive of APCON, Alhaji Garba Bello Kankarofi.

He wrote: “It is with great pleasure and excitement that I congratulate APCON as one of the best 100 best companies to work for in Nigeria. It is a well-deserved recognition for your relentless commitment and invaluable contributions to the lives of your employees and the Nigerian community at large; and a wonderful tribute to your leadership and aspirations for the council.”

Mr. Adewunmi appreciated the managerial skills of the leadership of APCON, noting: “Your keen efforts with the unfeigned support of your team has successfully portrayed APCON as an ideal role model for corporate Nigeria, and by publicizing great companies like yours do we hope to channel the right talents to the jobs of their dream.”

Rated the number one on the list is Shell Petroleum Development Company. An advertising company also rated is Insight Communications Limited, which came in the 98th position.
