The 18 numbered models are decorated with flags of former World Cup host companies, including Argentina, France, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Japan, as well as upcoming host nations Brazil, Russia and Qatar. The bottles were presented in special mini-cases and along with an accompanying promo campaign featuring print and broadcast, out of J. Walter Thompson.

They feature different images like a happy sun, the Brazilian flag, and others featuring a riot of colors no doubt meant to evoke the country's rich and colorful culture. The bottles follow the brand's release of special bottles featuring the Brazilian flag, created to support that country during the FIFA Confederations Cup.

On top of the fun design, the bottles are also interactive. Through Facebook or iPhone and Android apps, fans can create special messages and avatars that can be delivered to any mini-bottle owner. The bottles serve as augmented reality markers that can activate the animations when they're held up to a camera smartphone.

Coca-Cola has a remarkable history of launching special-edition bottles to capitalize on global mega events. It was could be recalled that South Africa FIFA World Cup witnessed the introduction of unique design of the Coca-Cola brand.
