Students, Academics Commend Etisalat on Youth Development

Academics and student community of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State have commended Nigerias most innovative telecommunication company, Etisalat for showing genuine interest in youth development in the country. The commendation came on the strength of the successful hosting of the Etisalat Cliqfest in the Polytechnic recently.

Many of the students who bared their minds to reporters during the event which held at the Stella Obasanjo Hall, Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State, gave kudos to Etisalat for its interest in the future of the Nigerian students as could be seen from its youth-oriented programmes including Cliqfest. They described the programme as a far reaching youth development initiative that will also help to improve the nation’s educational system.

Adewunmi Simeon, an HND 1 Electrical Engineering student who won a brand new Kia Picanto car during the raffle draw conducted at the two day programme, described Etisalat Nigeria as an organization that has not only raised the bar of service delivery in telecommunications, but also committed to contributing to educational development in the country. “I have heard a lot of good news about what Etisalat is doing in the education sector with the Cliqfest programme, and I really must say that after witnessing this two-day event; both the seminar and the concert, they really deserve commendation,” Simeon stated.

Manager, Youth Segment, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Idiare Atimomo restated Etisalat’s commitment to the development and promotion of Nigerian youth in the country, saying that aim of Cliqfest was to impact the Nigerian youths positively.

"Etisalat is dedicated towards enriching the lives of its customers; We recognise the individual roles the youth will play in the future of Nigeria, this is why we came up with this motivational and entertaining series of events that encourage the all-round development of our students, with the hope that it will help prepare them to be game changers who will spur the development of Nigeria,” he said.
