Starcomms’ S-Credit service is now ‘Talk Now Pay Later’

Nigeria’s leading Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) operator in the telecommunication industry, Starcomms Plc, has adopted a new name for its S-Credit value added service. It is now known as ‘Talk No, Pay Later.’ This is in a bid to simplify it and make it more consumer friendly.

Talk Now Pay Later was introduced last year to ease customers of the problems associated with recharge card purchase and distribution, especially when there is need for emergency calls, and access to recharge cards is difficult or impossible. Mr. Logan Pather, Chief Executive Officer of the company said the value added service is an emergency credit or electronic credit solution that allows customers to access instant airtime on credit, which can be paid back when next a top up is
done.

According to Pather, “today, the telecommunication industry needs innovative yet reliable solutions for prepaid recharge. Traditional recharge card purchase and distribution is cost intensive and lacks flexibility in terms of intelligent sales support. Also, airtime runoff is mostly the case with customers. Alternative top-
up solutions and simple airtime credit borrowing systems are starting to replace traditional recharge methods. That is why Talk Now Pay Later was introduced”

He further explained that it would also assist customers to do much more with their mobile phones and help alleviate the challenges associated with credit downtime at critical periods. Customers who are in urgent need of credit can dial *411# and will receive airtime worth N80. However, on next recharge, N100 will be deducted from the customer’s account. N20 being the cost of the service.

The service offers absolute convenience to pre-paid customers, an opportunity to make calls even with zero credit balance, and it is easy to use any time of the day.

Starcomms is a leader in Nigerian economy in the provision of mobile datase rvices and has received consistent recognition and accolades for services in this space since 2007.
