Nigerian oil and gas company Oando Energy has confirmed its participation as an Emerald Sponsor at African Energy Week 2026, as the firm reported a 10 per cent year-on-year rise in profit after tax to ₦241.3 billion for the 2025 financial year.
The improved performance was driven by stronger upstream operations, increased crude and gas liftings, and higher gas sales volumes, underlining the company’s operational resilience and strategic focus despite a challenging macroeconomic environment. The results come ahead of African Energy Week 2026, scheduled to take place in Cape Town from 12 to 16 October, where policymakers, operators and investors will gather to advance deal-making and project delivery across Africa’s energy sector.
Oando Energy maintains a significant presence across Nigeria’s hydrocarbon value chain and continues to expand beyond domestic operations. In March 2026, the company signed a Production Sharing Contract for Block KON-13 in Angola’s onshore Kwanza Basin, securing a 45 per cent operated interest. The block is estimated to hold between 770 million and 1.1 billion barrels of prospective oil resources, positioning Oando among a limited number of indigenous African operators with upstream assets spanning multiple jurisdictions.
Its upstream subsidiary, Oando Energy Resources, holds interests in more than 14 oil and gas assets across Nigeria and São Tomé and Príncipe, covering over 22,400 square kilometres of gross acreage. The company’s infrastructure includes a 1,255-kilometre pipeline network, 14 flow stations and gas processing capacity exceeding 3.6 billion standard cubic feet per day. Average upstream production reached 32,482 barrels per day in 2025, supported by the full-year consolidation of NAOC Joint Venture assets.
Beyond hydrocarbons, Oando is expanding into renewable energy, with plans to establish a 1.2 gigawatt solar photovoltaic module assembly plant in Nigeria, including a recycling line to support local manufacturing and circular economy initiatives. The company has also partnered with Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Agency on solar projects aimed at improving access to clean energy in underserved communities.
