Advertising startup Hooplacar wins Seedstars Morocco

Advertising startup Hooplacar has won the Morocco round of the Seedstars World Competition which will see it represent the country next year in Switzerland at the global final and also pitch for up to US$1 million in equity investment.



This year global early-stage startups competition Seedstars World has been hosting a series of local events across Africa  which has seen winners emerge in countries like Mozambique, Tunisia, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal ,Cameroon and Angola.

The event in Morocco took place on Friday, October 20 at the University of Hassan II Faculty of Juridical, Economic and Social Sciences in Casablanca, with nine startups pitching their ideas in front of a local jury. Hooplacar, however emerged the overall winner.

The startup connects brands with drivers to create on-vehicle advertising campaigns which are live monitored through GPS tracking and marketing KPIs.

Hooplacar will now participate at the Seedstars Summit, taking place in Switzerland in April 2018, taking part in a week-long training programme and pitching for investment.

Manageo – an online software that facilitates the overall management of small and medium-sized businesses, came second and Eko-Geste Dari, the service that designs innovative and convenient solutions to better manage, collect and recycle waste, grabbed the last spot in the top 3.

The other startups pitching were BESTCARRIERE, Novway, Nour, Ivendi.ma, CreaSouk, Khdemti.ma and Ville Propre

The 10 startups pitched in front of a prestigious jury, including Nawfal Fassi-Fihri (Endeavor Morocco), Outmane El Hassani (OCP), Gilles d’Herclonville (Orange), Fredrik Andersson (Seedstars) and Kamran Samadli (Seedstars). While Ismail Bargach Country MD at Seedstars Morocco inspired the audience with his keynote speech.
