The bust's sculptor, Madeira native Emanuel Santos, narated that the work took him 15 days to create; shortly after getting a nod from local officials.
The four-time player of the year has made a record 138 national team appearances for Portugal and is the team’s top scorer with 71 goals.
Locally, Ronaldo is known as a quintessential rags-to-riches story.
